Dr Violeta Morari received her BSc (First Class Honours) in Mathematics from the State University of Moldova, followed by an MSc and a PhD in Mathematics from University College Cork.

 

Dr Morari has extensive teaching experience across a wide range of engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, Biomedical, and Chemical Engineering, as well as in mathematics support (ALC) and Professional Teaching Diploma at Munster Technological University (MTU).

Dr Morari is currently a member of MTU Academic Council and serves as Chair of the MTU Regulations Quality Assurance and Enhancement Committee.

Dr Morari has a keen interest in Academic Integrity. She is an Academic Integrity Advisor (AIA) for the Faculty of Science and Informatics and a member of the University’s Academic Misconduct Board (UAMB). She chaired the Academic Integrity Working group, which was tasked with developing the MTU inaugural Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure (2025).

Dr Morari is one of MTU’s representatives on the National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN) Steering Committee and Chair of NAIN Working Group 5.  She is also a member of the European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI) and has led the development of institutional initiatives in this area.

Dr Morari has led several nationally funded teaching and learning projects, including the SATLE calls funded by the National Forum, such as SPIRIT Maths initiatives and recent work on ethical engagement with Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Higher Education. Her work focuses on enhancing student learning, promoting academic integrity, and developing innovative, student-centred approaches to mathematical education and assessment.

An active researcher and educator, Dr Morari has published widely and regularly presents at international conferences.

Dr Morari is also a reviewer for several journals, including the International Journal for Educational Integrity and All Ireland Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (AISHE-J).

In 2024, she was awarded Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) by Advance HE.
