It takes a lot of people to make a winning team. Everybody's contribution is important.
Rory Conboye Profile

Biography
Dr. Rory Conboye graduated from University College Cork (UCC) with a Joint Honours degree in Physics and Mathematics (2006), a Research Masters in Differential and Algebraic Geometry (2008) and a PhD in Mathematical Relativity (2012).
Since graduating, Rory has researched and lectured at a number of universities in Europe and the USA, including a semester with the Quantum Gravity research group at Aix-Marseille Université, a year lecturing in the School of Mathematics at UCC, two years as a postdoctoral researcher at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), and seven years at American University (AU) in Washington DC, most recently as a Senior Professorial Lecturer. He has created online modules at UCC, a new module on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles at FAU, and was instrumental in updating AU's precalculus modules to include active, discovery-based learning.
Rory returned to Cork in 2023, joining the Department of Mathematics at Munster Technological University. He continues to perform research in piecewise flat geometry and its applications to curvature flows, quantum gravity and numerical relativity. In the classroom, he is a strong proponent of using intuitive problems to motivate theory and procedures, helping students reach a deeper understanding, and has developed a new module along these lines for first semester engineering students.
